New Chapter: Equestrian

I’ve decided I need to make this blog a bit more personal and let you all into a special part of my life. For the past ten years of my life I have been working with horses, specifically Quarter Horses.

My first horse and only horse at the moment is Real Slick Chick aka Sally. Money winner, world champion, working cow horse, and now retired cripple who enjoys long walks down backroads. She walked into my life right at the starts of her retirement from her reining years. Sally started of by teaching me the basics. Everything moved fast from their and within the past six years we have done reining, sorting cows, trail, speed, pleasure, trail riding, and even tried her short legs over jumps.

Sally has always been my main mare, yet there has been many others that I have been blessed to work with.

I have jumped a pony blind in one eye and an OTTB gelding, worked with many problem/crazy horses, tuned up lesson horses, and last summer I had the opportunity to work and sell a gelding. I have been more than blessed to be able to get work with a large arrangement of horses.

So what’s next? Well I want keep learning all I can. I plan to go to school for Agriculture, but would truly love to be working with horses for the rest of my life. They seem to be the only thing that makes sense in my life.
